Saturday the 22nd of August 2009 @ Ludburn farm Buxton our first problem moving the 6m square dance floor by hand ... lift up the bunting and bring in the tractor!

With nudges and tugs the dance floor was moved to a new location allowing us to build our stage. The great British weather did not disappoint either the rain beat down, for once the weather was not an issue as we simply backed our van in to the barn (more bunting lifting) and set up our rather excellent show three

The reason for this one off extravaganza starts with the year 1969 in which the big events were Neil Armstrong walks on the moon: The US withdrew from Vietnam: Music was provided by The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Stones and the most famous music festival ever "WOODSTOCK" took place Oh yes and Sara and Claire were born ... but were not going on about that

However Lizzy, Mary, Tara and Jo not only talked about it they also sang about the fact the girls were both 40 how brave. The girls without their backing band did an amazing 20 minute set singing for the first time ever to “pre recorded” backing tracks

To say that I was told not to mention the big 40 there was no way Frank Kirsty & Paul were going to let the night pass without the traditional speeches. Frank opened with the usual round of thank you’s, with Kirsty going into more depth with life history, very amusing it was too and Paul concluding with the toast

Some 8 months earlier, well NYE to be more precise Claire & Sara spent lots of time drinking (as you do on NYE) and just a little time putting together their music playlist, later handed to me on a 3inch square bit of paper made up of random bands scribbles and lots of crossings out. After some first rate deciphering The music was mostly 80’s orientated and worked a treat

As a DJ my personal views are: enjoy what you are doing and show your enjoying and the audience will respond accordingly I’ve said it many times I am a very lucky man I love doing what I do, I also think it is well noted and appreciated

To summarize an excellent night was had by all: Sara & Claire being 40. George Woods being 15 on the day. Tara Richard Allen celebrating 11years of marriage The evening concluding with me getting everybody to bounce around our dance floor like crazed 17 year olds and Frank Saying ......
