Pattingham Village Hall Wolverhampton |
Happy Birthday to Greg Turner 10 years old! Mom Pam Turner engaged us to provide simply the best 10th Birthday Party ever. Did we do it? Of course we did 3 pages of music requests from Greg and his sister Lexie ensured we got the music spot on
Our sat nav got us to the lovely village called Pattington (a mere 28miles down the M6 on the outskirts of Wolverhampton)Where we then got to meet Gregs family & our host Mr Greg Turner a very excited Man U fan with an amazing smile.
Pam wanted us to create a “Night Club Feel” with the facility to send text messages of good will and song requests to our plasma screens, utilizing the skills of “Dan The Man” (who was awake for once) this was a breeze. Add to the equation, big visual projections, smoke, a mirror ball, multi beam lighting effects and one amazing sound system hey presto Pattington Village Hall is now a mini night club!
Using the whole back wall to project 20ft images of Greg, his friends & sister Lexie was very effective and most definitely added to the atmosphere, except that is for the hall clock smack bang in the middle of the wall, it had to go (but was replaced later) my idea Dan’s ladder skills!
Pizza was the main source of food complimented with as much slush puppy, popcorn and marshmallows and fruit dipped in the chocolate fountain as you could handle served by full on party people known as Lauren, Becky and Ben
No Birthday Party is ever complete with out the official cake, it was huge. The countdown was done the candles extinguished, the birthday song sung, the hall was brought to silence as Greg delivered his speech “ thanks for coming” in almost whisper mode, to then be over powered by Lexie bellowing her already prepared and rehearsed speech, Only to be reminded by Mom “Its not your party Lexie “
Greg was given the choice at the start of his party of just music or a combination of music & games he chose wisely as I think the games Greg picked added to, and made his party so much better. The games were; wrapping, spitting, drinking & mountain trike scooting with big cousin involvement and lots of cheating .... I’ll say no more
Just one last photo call, high fives and big thanks all round to the happiest 10 year old in the world. It was time for us to dee rig and leave the building as we found it
I would like to say thank you to both Pam & Keith (Mom &Dad) for inviting us to play at Greg’s 10th Birthday, leaving you with just one last thought “ Just what are you going to do for his 18th”
